Itinerary

After breakfast, our 8-day tour from Marrakech to Casablanca begins with a pickup from your riad or hotel. We head south through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views and dramatic landscapes. En route, we stop at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where you’ll have time to explore this iconic earthen fortress. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant near the kasbah. Afterward, we continue to Ouarzazate—often called the “Hollywood of Africa”—where you may choose to visit the famous film studios used in productions like *Gladiator* and *The Mummy*. We then pass through the Rose Valley before arriving in Boumalne Dades, where we spend the night.

Following breakfast, we begin the second day of our 8-day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert. We drive through scenic valleys and small towns, making a stop for lunch at a popular restaurant frequented by travelers. After lunch, we continue through Erfoud—the last major town before the desert—and arrive at Merzouga by early afternoon. Here, camels will be waiting to carry you across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll enjoy a serene camel trek and witness a stunning sunset over the Sahara. Afterward, we arrive at a traditional Berber desert camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner, live Berber music, and an unforgettable night under a sky full of stars.

After sunrise and breakfast in the desert, we depart Merzouga and begin our journey north. We pass through Erfoud and Errachidia, stopping to admire panoramic views of the Ziz Valley with its vast palm groves. Continuing through Midelt—famous for its apple orchards—we pause for lunch en route. As we ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains, we stop in the cedar forests of Azrou to observe wild Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. We then proceed to Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine architecture and cleanliness, where we’ll see the iconic stone lion statue. From there, we drive to Fes, arriving in the evening and checking into your riad for the night.

After breakfast, we leave Fes and travel north through the Rif Mountains, enjoying sweeping landscapes and views of traditional Berber villages. The drive showcases the natural beauty of northern Morocco. We arrive in Chefchaouen—the famed “Blue City”—in the afternoon. Known for its cobalt-washed streets and relaxed atmosphere, Chefchaouen is best explored on foot. You’ll have free time to wander its charming alleys, shop for local crafts, or simply relax. Overnight in a local riad.

We depart Chefchaouen after breakfast and drive through the scenic Rif Mountains, passing small towns and mixed villages. Our first stop is Tetouan, often called the “White Dove” for its whitewashed buildings. Nestled in the Martil Valley, it is one of Morocco’s two major Mediterranean ports and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After a brief visit, we continue to Tangier—a historic port city on the Strait of Gibraltar that has served as a crossroads between Africa and Europe since ancient times. Arriving in the afternoon, you’ll have time to stroll through the medina or along the waterfront before settling into your hotel for the night.

After breakfast, we take the coastal road south to Asilah, a picturesque town on the Atlantic Ocean. Over recent decades, Asilah has transformed into a vibrant cultural and artistic hub, hosting international festivals and attracting artists and intellectuals. Upon arrival, we visit key landmarks, including its historic ramparts, whitewashed medina, and colorful murals. Lunch will be served at a well-regarded local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore the town at your own pace or join a short guided walk. Overnight in a hotel or riad in Asilah.

Following breakfast and sunrise, we begin the seventh day of our 8-day Morocco itinerary by driving to Rabat, the nation’s capital. The journey includes a lunch stop en route. Upon arrival, we explore Rabat’s rich heritage, beginning with the Hassan Tower—a 12th-century minaret that was part of an ambitious but unfinished mosque complex. Though construction halted after the death of Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour in 1199 and was further damaged by the 1755 earthquake, the site remains a powerful symbol of Almohad architecture. We also take in views of the surrounding historical precinct, including the adjacent royal mausoleum. In the afternoon, we check into your hotel for the night.

On our final day, we drive south along the Atlantic coast, passing through the seaside town of Skhirat before reaching Casablanca—Morocco’s largest and most economically significant city. Our main stop is the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa and the third-largest in the Arab world. Perched dramatically on a platform over the ocean, it features exquisite craftsmanship and is one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors. After a guided tour, we transfer you to your hotel, concluding our 8-day Morocco tour from Marrakech to Casablanca.
