Itinerary

After breakfast, we will begin our 10-day tour from Marrakesh to Casablanca by picking you up from your hotel or riad. We will drive through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, offering panoramic views and glimpses of nomadic villages. Our first stop is the historic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that once housed around 50 families and their chieftain. Though partially damaged over time by rain and wind, it remains renowned as a filming location for numerous international movies. After exploring the kasbah, we will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant frequented by tourists. Following lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night and visit the famous film studios that have contributed to the city’s cinematic reputation.

We will depart in the morning between 9:30 and 10:30 and head toward Boumalne Dades, passing through small villages constructed from clay and stone. En route, we will traverse the Rose Valley, known for its rose cultivation and agricultural activity. The main town in this region is Kalaat Mgouna (Mgouna Castle in Berber). We will arrive at our riad or hotel in Boumalne Dades in approximately 40 minutes, following a scenic drive along the Dades Valley with its distinctive clay architecture. We will spend the night here.

After breakfast, we begin the third day of our 10-day Morocco itinerary from Marrakesh to the Merzouga Desert. Our first destination is the Todra Gorge near Tinghir (also known as Tinerhir), a city located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, south of the High Atlas and north of the Little Atlas. Originally referring to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Tinghir has expanded to include surrounding villages and the entire oasis. After visiting the gorge, we continue toward the Sahara Desert. We will stop for lunch in Tinerhir at a well-known local restaurant before proceeding to Erfoud—the last major town before the desert. From there, we head directly to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where camels and guides will be waiting to escort us on a sunset ride to our luxury desert camp. After watching the sunset from a high dune, we will arrive at the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

We begin the fourth day of our 10-day desert tour from Marrakesh to Casablanca after breakfast and sunrise. We will explore the surrounding desert and visit local nomadic communities to learn about their way of life and challenges. Next, we travel to the village of Khamliya, home to a mix of Black and White Moroccans who primarily speak Berber. Here, we will experience traditional Gnawa music unique to the region. Afterward, we return to Merzouga for lunch and a short walk through the small town center. In the afternoon, we transfer to Hassilabied, a village located about 5 kilometers from Merzouga, where we will spend the night at a hotel or riad.

On the fifth morning of our 10-day Morocco tour from Marrakesh, we depart Hassilabied and drive through the Ziz Valley toward Errachidia. We will pause briefly to enjoy panoramic views of the city before continuing to Midelt. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Midelt, after which we proceed to our hotel for the night.

We leave Midelt and drive toward Fes, passing through Zaida and other small towns before reaching the cedar forests of Azrou. Here, we will stop to observe wild Barbary macaques and local wildlife in their natural habitat. From Azrou, we continue to Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine architecture and cleanliness—it is considered one of Africa’s cleanest cities. We will visit the famous stone lion statue and note the presence of Al Akhawayn University, which attracts students from Morocco and abroad for English-language studies. Afterward, we descend through the Middle Atlas Mountains, enjoying scenic landscapes and passing traditional mountain villages before arriving in Fes, where we will spend the night.

We depart Fes on the seventh day of our 10-day itinerary from Marrakesh to Casablanca, traveling through the Rif Mountains and their picturesque villages. After a long but scenic drive, we stop for lunch at a small restaurant between Fes and Chefchaouen. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen—famous for its blue-washed buildings—we check into our hotel or riad. You will have free time to relax or explore the medina, admire local crafts, and observe traditional attire. Dinner can be enjoyed at your leisure in the town, and we will spend the night in Chefchaouen.

On the eighth morning of our 10-day tour from Marrakesh, we leave Chefchaouen and drive toward Asilah along the Rif Mountains, making stops for photos and to enjoy mountain vistas. Asilah is a coastal town located south of Tangier on Morocco’s Atlantic shore. Its well-preserved 15th-century Portuguese ramparts enclose a historic medina that serves as an artistic hub, celebrated for its vibrant murals and the annual Moussem Culturel International festival. After a memorable journey, we settle into our hotel or riad for the night in Asilah.

After breakfast, we continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital and the official residence of the King and royal family. Situated along the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean, Rabat showcases a blend of Islamic and French-colonial heritage. Key landmarks include the Kasbah of the Udayas—a Berber-era fortress surrounded by French-style gardens—and the 12th-century Hassan Tower, a minaret rising above the ruins of an unfinished mosque. We will make occasional stops for photos, explore Rabat’s main attractions, and spend the night in the city, concluding the ninth day of our 10-day tour from Marrakesh to Casablanca.

On the final day of our journey, we enjoy breakfast at the hotel before driving to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. En route, we pass through several small towns and make occasional stops for photographs. Upon arrival in Casablanca, we visit the Hassan II Mosque—one of the largest and most impressive Islamic religious buildings in the world and one of the few open to non-Muslims. Visitors must dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering. Guided tours, offered in English, French, German, and Spanish, include the grand prayer hall, which is accessible to the public. After the mosque visit, we take a brief city tour for additional photo opportunities before checking into our hotel or riad for the night. This marks the conclusion of our 10-day Morocco itinerary from Marrakesh to Casablanca.
